Cat5e Bandwidth and Distance Limits

Rated at 100 MHz, the cable handles 10 and 100 Base-T Ethernet up to the standard 100 m channel limit, so the 15 ft run is well within specification. It does not support Gigabit or higher speeds because the Cat5e standard caps performance at 100 Mbps.
