Belkin Cat 6 Snagless Patch Cable 7 ft

This Belkin A3L980B07-S is a Category 6 patch cable built for wired network connections. It carries 100Base-T and gigabit Ethernet signals over a 7 ft run with unshielded twisted pairs and a gray jacket.

Home and office runs needing a short molded link

The snagless boots protect the locking tabs during frequent moves, making it suited for desks, patch panels or temporary setups. Installers who require shielded cable or longer permanent runs should select a different type.

Gold-plated contacts cut return loss by 40 percent

Connectors use 50-micron gold plating to reduce corrosion and improve signal integrity. The manufacturer states this design improves return loss in the current network by 40 percent.

Questions about this item

What does the Cat 6 rating mean for actual network speeds?

The cable supports 100Base-T and gigabit Ethernet networks, so it handles up to 1 Gbps in a real machine.

How does the RJ-45 connector limit what I can plug it into?

Both ends use RJ-45 male plugs, the standard port on routers, switches, PCs and most network gear.

Will the 7 ft length and snagless boots fit behind my desk without catching?

At 7 ft the cable reaches typical desk runs, and the snagless molded boots stop the latch from catching on other cables.
