Direct PC-to-PC Link Cable

This Category 5e crossover patch cable connects two computers directly on a Local Area Network without a hub or switch. It supports 10 and 100Base-T network standards for basic file sharing or direct gaming links. The 3 ft length suits desktop-to-desktop runs on the same bench. It is not for uplink connections to a router or wall port.

Gold-Plated Connectors With Strain Relief

Fifty-micron gold-plated RJ45 contacts resist corrosion and ensure clean, clear transmissions over repeated insertions. Molded strain relief at each end protects the termination from bending stress during daily handling. The male-to-male configuration is fixed for crossover pinout.

Lightweight UTP Construction

Unshielded twisted-pair cable weighs approximately 2.24 oz, making it easy to coil and store in a laptop bag. Yellow jacket colour helps identify the crossover link among standard patch cables. IEEE 802.3 compliant connectors fit PCs, hubs and Macs with standard RJ45 ports.

Questions about this item

Will the gold-plated connectors need cleaning or replacement after extended use?

The 50-micron gold plating resists corrosion so the RJ-45 ends do not require routine cleaning or scheduled replacement.

What bandwidth limit appears first when the cable runs at full 100Base-T speed continuously?

The Cat 5E rating caps sustained throughput at 100 Mbps, which is the first bottleneck under constant load.

Does the cable generate noticeable heat or draw extra power during all-day operation?

Passive copper construction produces no measurable heat and draws zero power beyond the connected network devices.
