What this cable does

This Belkin Cat.6 UTP patch cable connects two network devices over a very short distance. It carries data at up to 1 Gbit/s and uses gold-plated RJ-45 connectors on both ends. The pink jacket makes it easy to identify in a crowded rack or behind a desk.

Signal quality on a 6-inch run

At only six inches long the cable introduces virtually no attenuation or crosstalk, so the full 1 Gbit/s rate is sustained without errors. The Category 6 construction and snagless boots keep the pair geometry stable even when the patch panel is rearranged repeatedly.

Installing and common pitfalls

Push each RJ-45 plug straight in until the latch clicks; the snagless boot prevents the tab from catching on adjacent ports. The only common issue is trying to use this 6-inch length where a longer reach is needed — measure the gap before ordering.
