NIAP EAL 4 validated KVM switch controls two USB computers via one 1920 x 1440 monitor with push-button selection and tamper-proof firmware
The Belkin F1DN102U is a NIAP Common Criteria EAL 4 validated KVM switch for environments that must isolate computers operating at different security levels. It connects two USB-enabled systems to a single D-Sub monitor, keyboard and mouse. Non-reprogrammable firmware and the absence of hot keys or OSD prevent data from being stored on the device.
The unit draws power from the attached USB ports and requires no external supply, so it adds negligible heat or acoustic load to a desktop or rack. A rugged metal enclosure passively dissipates any warmth generated during continuous operation. LED indicators show the active port without active cooling or moving parts.
The switch includes integrated cables for immediate connection to two computers and one monitor. Push-button selectors on the chassis provide tactile port switching without any software installation or driver support. The 1U rack-mountable form factor and compact footprint allow placement beneath a monitor or in a standard rack cabinet.

Mount the metal enclosure using the included brackets; the step often missed is tightening the rear cage nuts so the unit cannot shift when cables are pulled.
No firmware updates are possible because the firmware is non-reprogrammable; only occasional dusting of the push-button selectors and LED indicators is required.
The switch supports up to 1920x1440 @ 75Hz; pushing a higher resolution or refresh rate will cause signal loss first.
