BenQ MP522 185W Replacement Lamp

The BenQ MP522 is a new 185W projector lamp module supplied with a Philips UHP bulb pre-fitted in its housing. It is designed for owners of compatible BenQ projectors who need a direct drop-in replacement when the original lamp reaches end of life.

Upgrading from a dimmed or failed original lamp

This module replaces a lamp that has lost brightness or failed to ignite after extended use. The jump is worth it when the projector image becomes noticeably dim, colours shift, or the lamp-warning indicator appears, restoring rated output without projector modification.

Rated 3000 hours normal or 4000 hours economy

The lamp delivers its full 185W output for approximately 3000 hours in normal mode, with an economy setting extending usable life to around 4000 hours. It comfortably handles daily presentations or home cinema sessions, but will require replacement again once the rated hours are exceeded.

Questions about this item

Will the MP522 lamp module fit my BenQ projector without extra brackets?

The MP522 lamp module is a fully assembled bulb and housing designed as a direct replacement for the original BenQ 9E.Y1301.001 lamp, so it fits the existing lamp compartment without additional brackets.

What is the correct installation step that users often skip when fitting the MP522 lamp?

After inserting the MP522 lamp module, you must reset the projector's lamp-hour counter through the on-screen menu; skipping this step leaves the timer inaccurate and can trigger premature replacement warnings.

How many hours can I expect before the MP522 lamp needs replacing?

The 185W UHP lamp is rated for 3000 hours in normal mode and 4000 hours in economy mode, so plan on a replacement after reaching those limits.
