Product Identity

The BIOSCRYPT 4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme EPTVGGC is a biometric fingerprint reader designed for high-security identity verification. It supports PIV and TWIC credential standards for government and regulated access control. The unit is supplied in new condition.

Intended Users

This device suits organisations deploying multi-factor authentication for physical or logical access using federal credential standards. It is not for buyers who need a simple USB fingerprint sensor for consumer login, nor for environments that require integrated barcode or smart-card reading beyond the specified PIV/TWIC capability.

Deciding Specification

The defining specification is PIV and TWIC compatibility within the 4G Station Extreme EPTVGGC hardware configuration. Buyers must confirm their infrastructure accepts this exact credential profile before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How is the BioScrypt 4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme fingerprint reader installed, and what step is commonly missed?

Connect the reader to a USB port on the host system and install the BioScrypt driver package before enrolling fingerprints; the step often missed is completing the PIV/TWIC middleware configuration so the device communicates with the smart-card subsystem.

What maintenance or replacement will the BioScrypt 4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme need over time?

Clean the optical sensor surface periodically with a lint-free cloth and approved cleaning solution; the unit has no user-replaceable parts, so sensor degradation or cable damage requires full device replacement.

What limit appears first when the BioScrypt 4G PIV-TWIC Station Extreme is used continuously for high-volume verification?

The USB 2.0 interface bandwidth and host CPU processing of template matching become the bottleneck before the sensor itself overheats, capping sustained transaction rates.
