DS8178-SR 2D Bluetooth Wireless Scanner

The Solio DS8178-SR is a 2D Bluetooth wireless barcode scanner built for workers who must capture many codes on a full 8.5 x 11 or A4 page and send only the required data to an application with one trigger press. It reads dense, damaged, faded or on-screen codes in difficult conditions.

Installation and Common Issues

Pair the scanner with its base over Bluetooth, connect the base by USB cable and trigger a scan to verify data appears in the target field. Interference or distance beyond the rated range can drop the link; keep the scanner within 24 in or 61 cm of the base and avoid metal obstructions. A crinkled or dirty label may need a second press.

Practical Limits of Bluetooth Wireless

The wireless link is rated to 24 in or 61 cm, so the operator must stay close to the base during continuous scanning. Bluetooth bandwidth and the single-trigger multi-code logic limit throughput when many large barcodes are captured at once. The scanner cannot read codes outside its optical range or through opaque barriers.
