Black Box CAT6 Patch Cable 6 ft

This Black Box CAT6PC-006-BK is a Category 6 unshielded twisted-pair patch cable built for standard network connections. It measures six feet and terminates in two RJ-45 male plugs with moulded strain relief. The stranded conductors keep the cord flexible for desk or patch-panel routing.

Suits home and office links up to 250 MHz

Buyers who need shielded cable for noisy environments or outdoor-rated jackets should look elsewhere. Installers requiring plenum-rated fire performance or longer runs beyond the supplied length will need a different product.

250 MHz Category 6 rating determines bandwidth

The 250 MHz rating sets the maximum frequency the cable is tested to support for Gigabit Ethernet and similar signals. Verify that your switch, router or patch panel also operates within this specification before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the 250 MHz rating mean the cable runs hotter or draws more power than a lower-spec cable?

No, the 250 MHz rating describes bandwidth capacity. The cable is passive with no power draw and generates no heat during operation.

What devices must already have RJ-45 ports for this cable to work?

Both devices need an RJ-45 network port. The cable has an RJ-45 male connector on each end for a direct link.

Will this Cat6 cable work with my older Cat5e wall jacks and router ports?

Yes, it is fully backward compatible. The RJ-45 connectors fit standard Cat5e jacks and will negotiate the highest speed both ends support.
