Four-Port KVM Cable for PS/2 and USB Systems

This 30 ft cable connects four computers to a single keyboard, monitor and mouse using PS/2 and USB interfaces. It supports a maximum video resolution of 1920 x 1440 for clear display output. The unit is suited for administrators managing multiple servers or workstations from one console. It is not intended for setups requiring digital video inputs or longer cable runs beyond the stated distance.

Practical Limits of PS/2 and USB KVM Extension

The 30 ft operating distance sets the maximum separation between the switch and connected systems. Video quality is capped at 1920 x 1440, so higher-resolution displays will not reach their native pixel count. PS/2 and USB HID ports handle keyboard and mouse signals only; they do not carry audio or mass-storage traffic. Buyers needing digital video formats or extended distances beyond 30 ft cannot use this cable.

1U Rack Build with Fixed Connectors

The metal chassis measures 1.8 in high, 8.6 in wide and 5.1 in deep, fitting a standard 1U rack space and weighing 2.20 lb. Fixed PS/2 and USB connectors on each of the four ports mean cables cannot be swapped for longer or angled variants. The WEEE and RoHS certifications confirm compliance with environmental substance restrictions. Installers who require modular cabling or deeper rack clearance will find the integrated design restrictive.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 4-port version or a 2-port cable for my four computers?

This cable supports four computers, so one unit covers all four without daisy-chaining.

Will the 1920 x 1440 rating hold over the full 30 ft length?

The 1920 x 1440 maximum resolution is specified at the full 30 ft operating distance.

Does the PS/2 and USB combo limit which KVM switches I can plug into?

It provides both PS/2 and USB HID connectors, so it works with switches that accept either interface.
