The Black Box ICU504A extends four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports up to 100 metres over CAT6A or CAT7 cable. It supports USB 3.1, 2.0 and 1.1 devices simultaneously. The unit is built for integrators who need to place cameras, storage or peripherals far from the host computer. No other extender on the market offers CAT X 3.0 extension for USB 3.1.

Four ports at 5 Gbps each

Each port delivers the full 5 Gbps bandwidth of USB 3.1 Gen 1, so large video files or multi-camera streams move without the bottleneck of USB 2 extenders. The link runs out when the cable exceeds 100 metres or when the infrastructure uses CAT5e instead of CAT6A or CAT7. Bandwidth is shared across the four ports, so simultaneous heavy loads will saturate the link.

Passive cooling, single power supply

The extender operates without fans, so it adds no audible noise to a studio or server room. Power is drawn from the included supply at the transmitter side; the receiver is powered over the same CATx cable.
