Black Box Corporation Slim-Net 28-AWG CAT6A 500-MHz Network Ethernet Cable Blue 1 ft

Space-Saving Patch Cable

This 28-AWG CAT6A Ethernet cable is built for high-density telecom rooms and data centres where rack space is at a premium. At just .161" diameter it occupies roughly half the area of a standard 24-AWG cable, freeing up to 50% more room in vertical managers and 1U or 2U patch panels.

Sustained Signal Integrity

The cable is tested up to 500 MHz, ensuring reliable throughput during continuous data transfers rather than only brief bursts. Its reduced footprint allows tighter bundles without degrading performance, so signal quality remains stable across long patching runs in crowded cabinets.

Thermal and Airflow Benefits

Slim construction leaves larger gaps between patched cables, improving airflow through the rack and reducing heat build-up around active ports. The snagless strain-relief boot protects the connector tab during frequent moves, adds no measurable power draw and keeps noise irrelevant for this passive component.
