  • Premium ceramic ferrules ensure precise alignment for reliable signal transmission
  • OM1 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre supports high-bandwidth short-range links
  • ST-to-ST connectors provide secure bayonet coupling for quick installation
  • OFNR-rated PVC jacket meets riser fire-safety requirements for indoor routing
  • 15 metre length offers flexible reach between patch panels and equipment

Ready-to-install patch cable

This Black Box OM1 multimode cable arrives terminated with ST connectors on both ends. The 15-metre length suits rack-to-rack or patch-panel runs in enterprise closets. Orange OFNR-rated PVC jacket identifies the cable at a glance and meets riser fire codes. Installers can deploy it immediately without field polishing.

Fits standard ST infrastructure

Ceramic ferrules mate with existing ST bulkheads, panels and transceivers. The 62.5-micron core matches legacy OM1 links so no media conversion is required. OFNR rating allows vertical routing between floors without additional conduit. The assembly frees technician time otherwise spent on termination and testing.

Stable loss over extended runs

Ceramic ferrules maintain consistent alignment during repeated mating cycles. Multimode geometry supports the bandwidth distances defined for OM1 62.5/125 fibre. OFNR jacket resists temperature cycling in riser pathways. The cable preserves link budget across the full 15-metre span under continuous operation.

Questions about this item

What distance limit applies to the 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre at the 15 m length?

The 15 m length is well within typical reach limits for OM1 multimode fibre at common data rates.

How much heat or noise does the cable generate during continuous operation?

As a passive fibre patch cord it produces no heat and no noise.

Which connectors must the existing equipment provide for this cable to plug in directly?

Both ends use ST connectors, so the link equipment needs matching ST ports.
