This Black Box LFP420 module converts an SFP slot to a single-mode fibre interface operating at up to 1250 Mbps. It transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm over a simplex LC connector. The unit is designed for networks where only one fibre strand is available.

The transceiver maintains operation across an extended range of -40 to +85 °C (-40 to 176 °F) during sustained use. Built-in diagnostics continuously report temperature, TX and RX optical power, supply voltage and laser bias current. This visibility helps administrators monitor link health in real time.

Because the module uses a single fibre strand with bidirectional wavelengths, reach is constrained by the link budget of the 1310 nm and 1550 nm optics.
