DeckLink Duo 2 3G-SDI card

The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Duo 2 is a PCI Express card that provides four independent 3G-SDI connections. Each channel can be configured as an input or output, supporting SD and HD formats up to 1080p60. It occupies a single 4-lane Generation 2 slot and includes a reference connection for black burst or tri-sync. The SDK allows developers to assign channels for capture or playback in any combination.

Developers building multi-channel video systems

This card suits developers and OEMs creating media play-out servers, digital signage installations, live keyers or multi-channel capture rigs. Simultaneous capture and playback on the same card enables real-time processing workflows. It is not for workflows that require 4K resolution or higher SDI bandwidth. It is not for systems that lack a compatible PCI Express slot.

Four bi-directional 3G-SDI ports

The decisive specification is the four bi-directional 3G-SDI interfaces, each handling SD and HD signals up to 1080p60. Their independent configurability as inputs or outputs determines whether the card matches the channel count and signal format a project demands.

Questions about this item

Does my workstation need a free PCI Express x4 Gen 2 slot for the DeckLink Duo 2?

Yes, the card uses a single PCI Express slot with four-lane Generation 2 bandwidth to handle four simultaneous 3G-SDI streams.

Can the four 3G-SDI ports on the DeckLink Duo 2 connect to older SD-SDI cameras and monitors?

Each bi-directional 3G-SDI connection supports SD and HD formats up to 1080p60, so legacy SD-SDI gear works alongside newer 1080p sources.

How do I verify the DeckLink Duo 2 is capturing and playing out correctly after installation?

Use the Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup utility to confirm all four channels show active video, then run the SDK sample apps to test simultaneous capture and playback at 1080p60.
