2-Port HDMI Production Switcher

The StarTech VS221HD20 routes two HDMI sources to one display, supporting 4K at 60Hz and 7.1 surround sound. It is built for production setups, home theatres or workstations that need instant source selection without re-cabling.

Fits a single-display workflow

Connect up to two 4K60 sources such as a laptop or media player to the two HDMI inputs; the single HDMI output feeds your monitor or projector. Front-panel buttons, automatic switching and an included IR remote give hands-free or manual control. A universal AC adapter with multiple plug types powers the unit from 100 to 240 V AC.

Runs silently with no fan

The switcher draws 0.4 A from the 5 V DC supply, producing negligible heat in normal use. Operating temperature range is 0 to 40 °C with humidity from 10 to 85 % RH, so it stays reliable in typical indoor environments. No moving parts means completely silent operation.

Questions about this item

Does the VS221HD20 overheat when left on 24/7?

It runs from a 5 V, 2 A external adapter drawing only 0.4 A at the mains, so it generates very little heat and stays within the 0–40 °C operating range without a fan.

How loud is the switcher during all-day use?

The unit has no fan or moving parts, so it is completely silent in operation.

What cables and power items must I already have to use this switcher?

You need two HDMI source cables and one HDMI display cable; the universal AC adapter and IR remote with CR2025 battery are included.
