Product purpose

The Bluecctv BL-1042IRU is a 1000TVL analog bullet camera designed for outdoor surveillance installations that require adjustable viewing angles and infrared night vision up to 130FT. It suits installers who need a 12V DC powered camera with a vari-focal lens for flexible scene coverage.

Installation notes

The camera connects via a single BNC video output and a 12V DC power input, so a compatible DVR and power supply are the only required connections. The vari-focal 2.8-12mm lens must be adjusted manually at the camera body, and the UTC OSD menu is controlled through the coaxial cable using a supported DVR or controller. Common issues include mismatched video format when the DVR does not support 960H recording, and IR overexposure at close range if the Smart IR function is not enabled.

Deciding specification

The maximum resolution is 1000TVL at 30FPS with a 1.3 megapixel Sony sensor, and the supplier states that a 960H DVR system is required for best picture quality. Buyers whose recorder only supports lower horizontal resolution formats will not realise the full detail this camera can deliver.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 1000TVL image is live after connecting the BNC cable?

Connect the BNC output to a 960H DVR, power the camera with 12 V DC, then check the DVR monitor for a 720P 30FPS picture and use the OSD menu via UTC to confirm 1000TVL resolution.

What comes in the box and what must I source separately?

The camera body with 2.8-12 mm vari-focal lens and 42 IR LEDs is included; you must provide a 12 V DC power supply, BNC video cable, and a compatible 960H DVR for recording.

Which lens setting suits a 130 ft night-view requirement?

Adjust the 2.8-12 mm vari-focal lens toward the telephoto end to match the 130 ft IR range of the 42 LEDs while keeping the 1000TVL 720P 30FPS image sharp.
