Fixed wide-angle view

The Bluecctv BL-IR5850MI is a new analog CCTV camera with a built-in 2.99mm lens that provides a fixed wide field of view. It captures 540 TV lines of resolution using a 1/3" Sony Super HAD II CCD sensor with 768(H) x 494(V) effective pixels. The unit operates on 12V DC power drawing 150mA and includes automatic electronic light control, gain control and white balance for simplified setup.

Analog transmission limits

Video is transmitted over a standard analog coaxial connection which caps usable resolution at the sensor's 540 TV lines and prevents digital networking features such as remote configuration or PoE power delivery. The fixed 2.99mm focal length cannot be adjusted after installation so the viewing angle and magnification remain constant. Infrared illumination reaches 10 metres and switches on automatically at 0 lux but provides no benefit beyond that range.

Coverage and headroom

The wide 2.99mm lens suits general overview monitoring of rooms, hallways or building perimeters where broad coverage is preferred over facial detail at distance. The 10 IR LEDs deliver usable night vision up to 10 metres making the camera effective for small to medium outdoor zones such as driveways or loading bays. Vandal-resistant and waterproof housing allows permanent outdoor mounting without additional enclosures. Scenes requiring identification beyond 10 metres or variable optical zoom will exceed this camera's fixed capabilities.
