Call Privacy Switch for Bogen Intercoms

The Bogen CA11A is a push-button call-in switch designed for staff locations in schools or institutions. It connects to Bogen PI35A, SI35A, MultiGraphic 115B, 2223, 2233 and Multicom 2000 communication systems. The unit provides momentary press-to-call operation for routine communication needs.

Fixed Privacy Position and SCR Holding Circuits

A dedicated privacy position prevents unauthorized monitoring of the staff station from the control center without blocking incoming program or intercom audio. SCR holding circuits drive the annunciator signal and LEDs on Bogen SBA-Series room selector panels. The privacy function is not compatible with two-wire call-in installations.

Wired Integration Limits

The switch requires a direct wired connection to supported Bogen head-end equipment and does not operate on standalone or wireless networks. Privacy mode cannot be used where two-wire call-in wiring is deployed. Buyers needing wireless call buttons or IP-based endpoints will not be served by this device.

Questions about this item

Does the push-button switch mechanism on the CA11A require periodic cleaning or replacement?

The CA11A uses a momentary press-to-call button; no maintenance schedule or replacement interval is published for the switch mechanism.

What limits continuous operation when the privacy switch is held in the fixed position?

The privacy position mechanically locks the circuit open; the only limit is the mechanical life of the latching actuator, which is not rated in the specifications.

Does the CA11A generate any audible noise or heat when left in privacy mode all day?

The CA11A is a passive push-button switch with no active electronics, so it produces no fan noise, coil whine or measurable heat during extended use.
