What the 2-Pack Does

This two-pack converts DisplayPort 1.2 outputs to HDMI 1.4 inputs so a desktop or laptop can drive an HDMI monitor, projector or HDTV. Each adapter carries both video and multi-channel audio. The pair is aimed at users who need two additional HDMI ports from a single DisplayPort source.

Resolution and Refresh Limits

The adapters support 4K at 30 Hz, 2K at 60 Hz and 1080P at 120 Hz. They pass uncompressed 7.1, 5.1 or 2-channel audio. The connection is unidirectional from DisplayPort to HDMI only and will not work in the reverse direction.

Installation Notes

Plug each adapter into the DisplayPort source, attach an HDMI cable, then connect the display and configure mirror or extend mode in the OS. No drivers are required. A common issue is attempting to use the adapter from an HDMI source to a DisplayPort display, which the unidirectional design prevents.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the single adapter or the 2-pack for my setup?

The 2-pack gives you two DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 1.4 converters so you can connect two separate HDMI displays to a desktop or laptop at the same time.

What resolution and refresh rate will I actually see on my monitor?

The adapter supports up to 4K at 30 Hz, 2K at 60 Hz and 1080p at 120 Hz, plus uncompressed 7.1 or 5.1 audio pass-through.

Does the DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 1.4 link limit the bandwidth I can use?

Yes, the HDMI 1.4 end caps the signal at 4K 30 Hz, so higher refresh rates at 4K are not possible through this adapter.
