Mud Shovel for Wet Soil Work

The Bully Tools 92705 is a 12 gauge round point mud shovel designed for digging in wet or sticky ground. Its blade measures 9.25 by 11 inches and features a closed back that prevents debris build-up. A support rib adds structural strength while 47 drain holes in a distinct USA pattern let water and mud pass through. The tool suits landscapers and homeowners moving saturated soil.

Drainage Limits of the USA Pattern

The 47 drain holes reduce suction and weight when lifting wet material, but they also allow fine silt or slurry to escape during transport. The closed back stops clods from packing behind the blade, yet the open perforations mean this shovel cannot hold liquid or semi-fluid mixtures. Users should expect some material loss when moving very soft mud or wet sand.

Handle Length and Grip Check

The total tool length is 59 inches with a 48.5 inch wood-filled fiberglass handle and an extended ferrule. Verify that this reach matches your height and the depth of trenches or ditches you work in. The flexible grip should feel comfortable for prolonged use, and the ferrule connection must sit solidly against the blade for safe leverage.
