Letter-size folders for high-volume filing

Business Source 16490 folders measure 8.5 x 11 in and arrive in a 100-count box. The 11 point stock and scored 3/4 expansion accommodate growing project files. One-ply 1/3-cut tabs sit left for consistent indexing.

Flat storage with reinforced edges

Rounded top corners prevent snagging when folders are pulled from tight drawers. The scored expansion crease keeps the cover flat until extra capacity is needed. No moving parts or power draw are involved.

Undercut tabs improve label readability

The 1/2-high tabs are undercut so printed or handwritten labels remain visible in dense rows. One-ply construction keeps the folder light while the 11 point stock resists tearing during daily handling.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 1/3-cut left tabs on these 11 point stock folders?

Insert each folder into your drawer or shelf with the left tab facing out; the undercut design keeps labels visible without extra steps.

What part of these 16490 folders will wear out first with daily handling?

The one-ply 1/3-cut tabs and 3/4" expansion creases take the most stress; replace a folder when its tab tears or the score no longer holds papers flat.

At what fill level do these letter-size folders stop expanding smoothly?

The 3/4" scored expansion is the hard limit; once contents exceed that thickness the cover bows and the tab alignment shifts.
