Red file folders for colour-coded filing

These Business Source folders come in a pack of 100 with 1/3-cut tabs in multiple positions. The bright red colour makes it simple to colour-code documents for quick retrieval. They suit vertical or lateral filing systems in offices, homes or schools.

Reinforced tabs handle frequent use

Each folder measures 10-1/5 by 12-1/5 by 3-2/5 inches and uses reinforced tab construction to stay strong through daily handling. The sturdy material resists tearing when files are pulled and replaced often. No special storage conditions are required beyond a standard drawer or shelf.

Replaces worn or single-tab folders

This 100-count box upgrades from smaller packs or folders with only one tab position that limit layout flexibility. The jump is worth it when a team needs consistent colour coding across a large archive or when tab wear has become a recurring problem.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 1/3-cut tabs on the Business Source 3171 folders for a lateral filing cabinet?

Align the tab to the left, center, or right position that matches your cabinet's index; the reinforced tab resists tearing when you slide folders in and out.

What part of the Business Source 3171 folder wears out first with daily handling?

The tab edge and the scored fold line take the most stress; replace a folder when the tab frays or the crease no longer holds the gusset open.

How many sheets can the 3-2/5 inch gusset on the Business Source 3171 hold before it bulges?

The gusset expands to 3-2/5 inches; overfilling past that depth makes the folder bow and prevents it from sitting flat in the drawer.
