1/3-Cut Tab File Folders

Business Source 3174 file folders come in a box of 100 green folders with reinforced 1/3-cut tabs. They suit offices, schools and home filing systems that need colour-coded organisation. The tabs are positioned to work in both vertical and lateral cabinets.

Practical limits of tabbed folders

The 1/3-cut tab gives three tab positions per folder, which limits how many distinct sections you can label in a single drawer. Heavy daily handling can still wear the tab edges despite reinforcement. The green colour helps quick visual sorting but offers no extra capacity.

Upgrade from basic manila folders

These replace plain manila folders that tear at the tab after repeated use. The reinforced tab and colour coding are worth it when files are pulled daily and fast retrieval matters. They add no benefit for archive boxes that are rarely opened.
