What this splitter does

The BZBGEAR BG-DA-1X2AS takes one HDMI source and sends identical 4K60 4:4:4 signals to two displays. It meets HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 requirements, so protected content plays without handshake issues. Installers and AV technicians use it when a single player, console or PC must drive a pair of screens in commercial or home setups.

Downscaler and audio extraction

Each output has a selectable 4K to 1080P downscaler, letting a modern source feed an older 1080P panel without changing source settings. Audio is de-embedded to both an optical port and a 3.5 mm stereo jack, supporting LPCM, Dolby Digital variants, DTS variants and DSD for external sound systems. EDID dip switches lock each output to COPY or AUTO mode for stable links.

Capacity and limits

The unit passes 4K at 60 Hz with 24-bit colour depth across both outputs simultaneously. It does not support resolutions above 4K60, high-refresh 1080P beyond 60 Hz, or HDR metadata pass-through beyond the stated 4:4:4 format. Builders needing more than two outputs, fibre extension or matrix switching will need a different class of device.

Questions about this item

Will the optical or 3.5 mm audio outputs need any maintenance or replacement over time?

The optical and 3.5 mm ports are passive connectors with no moving parts or consumable components, so they do not require scheduled maintenance or periodic replacement under normal use.

What is the first limit reached when the splitter runs continuously at 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4?

The HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 specification caps the signal at 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4, so that resolution and colour depth ceiling is the primary limit during sustained operation.

How much heat or noise does the unit produce when powered all day?

The splitter has no fan and draws little power, so it runs silently and stays only slightly warm even during continuous 24-hour use.
