A 10 ft locking cord connects a NEMA L5-20P outlet to a C13 inlet with a twist-lock plug that resists accidental disconnection in racks, using 14 AWG SJT copper rated 15 A at 125 V and UL listed
This locking power cord links servers and PDUs to NEMA L5-20P twist-lock outlets in data centres and server rooms. The 10 ft length reaches across standard rack spacing without excess slack. The twist-lock mechanism prevents accidental disconnection caused by vibration or cable management activity. It is built for equipment that requires a grounded 15 A supply at 125 V.
The 14 AWG copper conductors are rated for continuous 15 A service at 125 V, matching the NEMA L5-20P plug rating. The SJT jacket carries a 105 °C / 300 V cable rating for thermal headroom inside warm racks. Thinner 18 AWG cords handle only 10 A, while 16 AWG stops at 13 A, so this gauge is the minimum for full 15 A loads. Installers must ensure the branch circuit and PDU outlet are also rated for 15 A continuous draw.
The black SJT jacket resists oil, abrasion and heat while allowing colour-coded circuit identification in dense racks. Three grounded conductors terminate in a moulded C13 connector for standard server inlets and a twist-lock L5-20P plug that clicks securely into its receptacle. UL Listed and CSA certified (file E210037) with RoHS compliance confirm the materials and construction meet North American safety requirements.

Yes — 14 AWG is rated up to 15 A at 125 V, matching the NEMA L5-20P plug and the cord’s 15 A / 125 V specification.
It means the cord can continuously carry 15 amps at 125 volts without exceeding its 105 °C temperature rating.
Yes — the 14 AWG conductors and 15 A rating cap the safe load at 15 A, so the 20 A outlet cannot be fully utilised with this cord.
