A 3 ft indoor extension cord with 16 AWG grounded copper, rated 13 A at 125 V, UL Listed and CSA certified
The Cable Leader 3 ft NEMA 5-15P to 5-15R extension adds reach between a standard three-prong outlet and your computer, monitor or appliance. It uses 16 AWG SJT-jacketed copper rated at 13A and 125V with a fully grounded three-wire design. UL Listed and CSA certified under file E210037, it is built for indoor offices, labs and workshops. Buyers who need outdoor or wet-location cable should choose an SJTW-rated product instead.
Verify that your existing power cord ends in a standard 5-15P plug and that the wall outlet, power strip or surge protector you will use is a matching 5-15R receptacle. The cord is 36 to 40 inches long, so confirm that length covers the gap without strain. Ensure the total load of connected devices stays at or below 13A; heavier server or PDU loads require 14 AWG or 12 AWG cords rated for 15A or 20A.
The SJT jacket and molded plugs with strain relief run cool under typical computer and monitor loads up to 13A. No fan or active cooling is present, so operation is silent. Power draw is determined solely by the attached equipment; the cord itself adds negligible resistance. For continuous high-draw applications consider a heavier gauge such as 14 AWG at 15A or 12 AWG at 20A.

The cord arrives with a moulded 5-15P plug on one end and a 5-15R outlet on the other; no extra parts are required to extend an existing 3-prong power cord.
Choose 16 AWG for computers, monitors and general office gear drawing up to 13 A; step up to 14 AWG for servers or PDUs up to 15 A, and to 12 AWG for heavy-duty 20 A equipment.
It means the cord can safely carry the full load of typical desktop systems and monitors that draw 13 A or less at 125 V, with a grounded 3-wire SJT jacket and UL/CSA certification (file E210037).
