An 8 ft indoor extension cord with 16 AWG grounded copper, 13A 125V rating, and UL/CSA certification for computers and appliances
This 8 ft extension cord carries a NEMA 5-15P plug to a 5-15R outlet so a standard three-prong device cord can reach a wall socket, power strip or surge protector. It uses 16 AWG, 13A / 125V SJT-jacketed three-conductor copper with a fully grounded design and moulded strain relief. The cable is UL Listed and CSA certified (file E210037) and RoHS compliant for indoor use in offices, labs, workshops and homes.
Verify that the device you want to extend already uses a standard three-prong 5-15P plug and that the destination is a matching 5-15R receptacle, power strip or surge protector. The cord is rated for indoor SJT duty only and must not be used in wet or outdoor locations where an SJTW jacket would be required. Ensure the connected equipment does not draw more than 13 A at 125 V so the 16 AWG conductors remain within their rated capacity.
As a passive copper cable the product generates no audible noise and has no active cooling requirements. Under normal loads up to 13 A the conductors run at typical SJT temperature ratings without exceeding insulation limits. Voltage drop over the 8 ft length is minimal for computer, monitor, appliance or shop equipment loads within the 13 A rating. No external power supply or additional thermal management is needed.

The package contains the 8 ft extension cord with a 5-15P plug and a 5-15R outlet. No additional parts are required; it connects directly to a standard wall outlet, power strip or surge protector and accepts your existing 3-prong device cord.
Choose 16 AWG for computers and monitors drawing up to 13 A. Use 18 AWG only for lighter electronics up to 10 A, 14 AWG for servers or PDUs up to 15 A, and 12 AWG for heavy-duty 20 A equipment.
The cord can safely carry up to 13 A at 125 V, so it supports typical desktop PCs, monitors and peripherals without overheating, provided the total draw stays within that limit.
