A 7 ft red Cat5e patch cable with non-booted RJ45 plugs for dense panels, 24 AWG bare copper, tested to 350 MHz for Gigabit Ethernet
This 7ft red Cat5e patch cable delivers a reliable Gigabit Ethernet connection for structured cabling, data centers and office networks. The non-booted RJ45 plugs seat cleanly in high-density patch panels and keystone jacks where space is tight. Four twisted pairs of 24AWG bare copper with 50-micron gold-plated contacts maintain signal integrity. It suits installers who need a cost-effective, UL and ETL verified link for routers, switches, PCs and PoE devices.
As a passive copper cable it generates no heat, emits no noise and draws no power of its own. The unshielded UTP construction and bare copper conductors keep insertion loss low across the tested 350MHz bandwidth. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation to preserve long-term performance without active cooling. The slim non-booted profile also promotes airflow inside crowded racks and panels.
The non-booted design frees valuable millimetres in dense patch fields and allows side-by-side seating in 5102-family high-density panels. No shielding means the cable stays flexible for tight bends around cable managers and through trunking. It terminates directly into standard RJ45 ports on switches, routers, patch panels and PoE gear without adapters. Installers needing shielded runs or category 6a bandwidth will need a different cable type.

Align the non-booted RJ45 plug with the keystone jack, push straight in until the latch clicks, then verify the link lights on both ends; skipping the latch check leaves the connection loose in tight panels.
The 50-micron gold-plated RJ45 contacts and the latch tab wear first; if the latch breaks or contacts oxidise, replace the entire 7 ft patch cord.
The Cat5e standard caps sustained throughput at 1 Gbps over 100 m; the 350 MHz rating only provides extra margin, not higher speed.
