9m OS2 LC/LC Duplex Patch Cable

This nine-metre single-mode duplex jumper uses Corning 9/125 µm fiber with LC/UPC connectors and a yellow OFNR jacket. It is built for data-centre, SAN and enterprise backbone links where long-distance single-mode performance is required.

Single-mode distance and rate limits

The cable supports 1G, 10G, 40G and 100G single-mode Ethernet standards such as 10GBASE-LR and 100GBASE-LR4, so reach is governed by the transceiver optics rather than the patch cord itself. Multimode equipment cannot use this OS2 cable and would need a different fiber type.

Verify transceivers and panel polarity

Confirm that both ends of the link use single-mode SFP, SFP+ or QSFP modules rated for the desired distance and that the patch-panel adapters are LC/UPC compatible. The duplex clip keeps transmit and receive fibers paired, so ensure the panel polarity matches the link design.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 9 m length or a shorter one?

Choose 9 m when the patch panel or switch is roughly 30 ft away; shorter lengths reduce slack but must still reach both ports without tension.

What does the 9/125 µm core size mean once the cable is installed?

The 9 µm core carries a single light path, so 1 G, 10 G, 40 G and 100 G single-mode signals travel 9 m with low loss and modal dispersion.

What does the OFNR jacket rating cap in practice?

OFNR allows the yellow riser-rated cable to run vertically between floors and through cable trays inside buildings, but it is not rated for plenum air spaces.
