Shares four USB peripherals between two computers at 10Gbps with push-button or RF remote switching
This Cable Matters switch shares four peripherals between two host computers. Two USB-A and two USB-C ports run at 10 Gbps for fast storage, printers and input devices. No video or host charging is supported. A push button and included RF remote change the active computer. An optional DC power port (adapter not included) helps power-hungry drives.
Ideal for users who swap keyboards, mice, webcams or external drives between a laptop and a desktop. Mac, Windows, ChromeOS and iPadOS are supported with wake-up from keyboard or mouse. Buyers who need video output, monitor docking or phone and Android tablet support should look elsewhere. The switch cannot charge a host laptop.
Each of the four ports delivers 10 Gbps bandwidth, the single figure that determines whether high-speed storage or multiple peripherals will perform as expected. The USB 3.0 specification underpins this speed. If your workflow demands more throughput or video signals, this switch will not meet the requirement.

Both port types on this switch run at 10Gbps, so choose USB-C for modern drives or docks and USB-A for legacy keyboards, mice or printers; the switch shares all four ports together between the two computers.
The 10Gbps figure is the interface ceiling; real-world throughput depends on the drive, cable quality and host controller, but you can expect near-full USB 3.0 Gen 2 speeds for large sequential transfers.
It operates on USB 3.0 at 10Gbps, so it caps peripheral bandwidth at that rate and cannot carry video or host charging; it is strictly a data-only switch for storage and input devices.
