Gamers and Data Centre Links

Works well for gaming PCs, streaming boxes and 10GBASE-T, 25GBASE-T or 40GBASE-T switch ports that auto-negotiate down to 1Gbps. Not suited for installers who need bulk cable on reels or runs longer than the supported channel distance.

2000Mhz Rated Bandwidth

The 2000Mhz / 2Ghz rating determines the maximum frequency the cable can carry and therefore the highest Ethernet standard it can support. Match this figure to the switch port specification before purchasing.

Questions about this item

What connectors and shielding does the 5 ft Cat 8 cable use?

Each cable has RJ45 connectors and S/FTP shielding for 2000 MHz bandwidth.

How do I seat the RJ45 plugs so the 40 Gbps link negotiates correctly?

Push each RJ45 until the tab clicks; the cable auto-negotiates from 1 to 40 Gbps.

When should I replace these patch cables in a 30 m two-connection channel?

Replace if the jacket is kinked, connectors are loose, or link drops below the negotiated speed.
