CableCreation SFF-8644 to 4 SATA 7 Pin Cable 2 M / 6.6 FT

SKU CH-EE6P-HDHGZ

Connects an SFF-8644 host port to four SATA drives at up to 6.0 Gbps per lane with a 2 M woven-mesh cable

  • Connect HBA cards to four SATA drives via SFF-8644 36-pin interface
  • Achieve up to 6.0 Gbps per lane with SAS 2.1 compliance
  • Woven mesh sheath and locking latches maintain airflow for 24/7 operation
  • Fan-out design maximises port density on adapter cards and servers
  • Compatible with LSI 9202-16e and Adaptec 8885, 71685, 78165 RAID controllers

Host connection

This cable links an SFF-8644 Mini SAS HD 36-pin port on an HBA or RAID card to four SATA drives. The SFF-8644 end uses a pull-to-release latch for secure insertion. It supports SAS 2.1 and delivers up to 6.0 Gbps per lane. Length is 2 M / 6.6 FT with a woven mesh sheath that minimises airflow disruption.

Usage fit

It suits builders connecting up to four SATA SSDs or HDDs to cards such as the LSISAS9202-16e or Adaptec 71685, 8885, 8885Q, 8885E and 78165. Buyers whose host lacks an SFF-8644 port or who need more than four drive connections should look at a different cable or expander.

Speed rating

The assembly is rated for 6.0 Gbps per lane under SAS 2.1 compliance. If the host controller or target drives operate at a lower generation the link will negotiate down, but the cable itself imposes no further bottleneck.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2 metre or 6.6 foot length for my server build?

Both figures describe the same cable; 2 metres equals 6.6 feet, so choose whichever unit you prefer.

Will the 6.0 Gbps per lane rating deliver full speed on my RAID controller?

Each lane runs up to 6.0 Gbps, matching SAS 2.1, so the cable will not bottleneck drives connected to a compatible HBA.

Does the SFF-8644 connector lock into standard Mini SAS HD ports on HBA cards?

Yes, the pull-to-release SFF-8644 plug fits all Mini SAS HD (SFF-8644) ports, including those on the listed LSI and Adaptec RAID cards.
