Cable category and shielding

This Category 8 patch cable uses four shielded twisted pairs of 26AWG oxygen-free copper with an overall S/FTP foil and braid. The construction targets alien crosstalk and EMI in dense rack or desktop environments.

Connector plating and backward compatibility

Gold-plated RJ45 contacts on both ends resist oxidation and maintain low insertion loss over repeated mating cycles. The cable is fully compliant with CAT 8 specifications and works with existing CAT7, CAT6, CAT5 and CAT5e ports.

Bandwidth rating and typical use cases

Rated for 2000MHz bandwidth, the link supports 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T throughput for servers, cloud storage, gaming consoles and high-bitrate video streaming. The two-foot length keeps latency low in short-run patching scenarios.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum data rate this Cat8 cable can sustain over its 2 ft length?

The cable supports 40 Gbps at up to 2000 MHz, which is the rated ceiling for 40GBASE-T over this distance.

Does the shielding add noticeable heat or power draw when the link runs continuously?

The S/FTP shielding is passive metal foil and braid; it generates no heat and draws no power during sustained operation.

What port type do my devices need for this RJ45 patch cable to work?

Both ends use standard RJ45 connectors, so any device with an RJ45 Ethernet port — router, switch, PC, console, server — will accept it.
