Short patch cable for tight runs

This 2.5 ft Cat6 patch cable connects two RJ-45 network devices in close proximity. Its snagless moulded boots protect the locking tabs during frequent insertion and removal. The slim 28AWG construction reduces cable bulk by 36 percent compared with standard Cat5e cables. It meets the ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 standard for patch-cord performance.

2.5 ft limits reach to adjacent ports

At 2.5 ft the cable suits rack-to-rack or desk-to-wall links where devices sit side by side. It cannot span a room, cross a ceiling void or reach a distant switch without a longer run. The unshielded design is adequate for typical office or home electromagnetic environments. For longer distances or high-interference areas a different length or shielded category cable is required.

Snagless RJ-45 boots prevent tab breakage

The moulded snagless boot covers the RJ-45 latch so it will not catch on adjacent cables or panel edges. This single mechanical feature determines whether the connector survives repeated moves in dense patch panels or tight cable trays. If the installation never disturbs the cable after seating, the snagless benefit is less critical.
