Slim Cat 6 patch cable

This five-foot Cat 6 UTP cable uses 28AWG conductors that reduce the diameter by 36 percent compared with standard Cat5e patch cords. The snagless RJ-45 plugs protect the release tab during frequent moves. It meets the ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 patch-cord performance standard for gigabit Ethernet links.

Ideal for tight routing

The slim profile suits crowded patch panels, dense switch ports and cable-management channels where bulkier cables would block airflow or adjacent ports. Builders who need shielded cabling for noisy industrial environments or outdoor runs should look at a different product.

28AWG conductor gauge

The 28AWG construction determines both the reduced outside diameter and the maximum recommended run length for reliable performance. Verify that your installation distance and bend-radius requirements match this gauge before ordering.

Questions about this item

What length should I choose for a short patch run?

The 5 ft length suits desk-to-switch or panel-to-device links without excess slack.

What does the Cat 6 rating deliver in a live network?

Cat 6 supports gigabit ethernet across the full 5 ft run with headroom for 10GBASE-T at short distance.

How does the 28AWG build affect the RJ-45 connection?

28AWG conductors make the cable 36% thinner than standard Cat5e while the snagless boots protect the latch during frequent moves.
