4 ft Cat6 patch cable

This four-foot Cat6 UTP patch cable carries Ethernet signals between routers, switches, patch panels and end devices in home or office networks. The green jacket makes it easy to identify in crowded racks or under desks. Both ends terminate in RJ-45 male plugs for standard twisted-pair ports.

Snagless boot protects the latch

A moulded snagless boot covers each connector release tab, preventing the latch from catching on adjacent cables during installation or removal. This reduces the risk of broken tabs that can cause intermittent connections. The unshielded construction keeps the cable flexible for tight routing.

Four-foot length limits reach

At 4 ft (1.22 m) the cable suits only short links such as a desktop to a nearby switch or a patch-panel cross-connect. Runs that cross rooms, floors or cabinets will need a longer cable. Buyers planning longer drops should select a different length.

Questions about this item

Will the snagless boots on the RJ-45 connectors need replacing after repeated unplugging?

The snagless boots are moulded onto the RJ-45 male plugs; they protect the locking tab during insertion and removal but are not a user-serviceable part.

What length limit applies to this 4 ft Cat 6 patch cable in a 1 GbE link?

At 1.22 m the cable is well within the standard channel distance for Cat 6 Gigabit Ethernet, so signal loss is not the limiting factor.

Does the unshielded construction generate noticeable heat or noise when running PoE+ all day?

UTP Cat 6 carries PoE+ current without active cooling; the cable runs silently and stays at ambient temperature under continuous load.
