9 ft Cat6 patch cable

The C2G 04029 is a 9 ft Cat6 unshielded twisted-pair patch cable with RJ-45 male connectors on both ends. Its purple jacket helps identify links in crowded racks or home offices. The snagless boot protects the latch during frequent moves.

Suited for Cat6 drops; not for shielded installs

This cable fits standard gigabit Ethernet connections to switches, routers, modems and patch panels. Installers who need foil or braid shielding for high-interference environments should look at a different construction.

Cat6 rating sets the performance ceiling

The Category 6 classification determines the maximum bandwidth and crosstalk limits the link can achieve. Matching the cable category to the network hardware specification is the single decision that confirms the part is correct.

Questions about this item

Will the snagless RJ-45 connectors on this 9 ft Cat6 patch cable fit standard Gigabit Ethernet ports on a router or switch?

Yes, both ends use standard RJ-45 male connectors that plug directly into any Gigabit Ethernet port on routers, switches, patch panels or network adapters. The snagless boots protect the locking tab during insertion and removal.

What is the correct way to seat the snagless connectors so the locking tab clicks securely?

Align the connector with the port, push straight in until you feel and hear a distinct click, then tug gently to confirm the tab has locked. The common mistake is stopping at the first resistance before the tab engages.

How often should this purple Cat6 UTP cable be replaced in a typical home or office installation?

Cat6 UTP patch cables have no defined service interval; replace only if the jacket is kinked, the snagless boot tears, the locking tab breaks, or intermittent link errors appear on connected devices.
