Canon 6452B001 CLI-251XL Gray Ink Cartridge (660 pages)

Canon CLI-251XL Gray Ink Tank

This genuine Canon cartridge supplies gray dye-based ink for compatible PIXMA printers. It is a single high-yield tank rated for approximately 660 pages. The cartridge works with models such as the MG6320, MG7120, iP8720 and MX922. It is intended for users who need accurate grayscale reproduction and colour stabilisation in photo and document printing.

Replaces standard-capacity gray cartridges

The XL designation indicates a higher ink volume than the regular CLI-251 tank. The jump is worth it when print volume is high enough that frequent cartridge changes disrupt workflow. Buyers who print only occasional photos or text pages may not use the extra capacity before the ink shelf life becomes a concern. It does not suit printers outside the listed PIXMA series.

Sustained printing performance

During extended print runs the tank maintains consistent density and colour balance because the gray ink stabilises adjacent colours. The dye-based formulation is designed for the ChromaLife100+ system when paired with Canon photo paper, supporting long-term fade resistance. Output quality remains steady across the full rated yield rather than degrading near the end. Users who require pigment-based archival inks should look elsewhere.
