Product Identity

The CCTV Imports CVC-6405DC is a wired analog dome camera built for indoor surveillance installations. It suits installers who need a varifocal lens to adjust the field of view on site. The unit requires a separate 12V DC power supply to operate.

Thermal And Power Behaviour

The camera operates within 95% relative humidity and uses an electronic shutter ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 seconds. Power draw is limited to the 12V DC input with no supply included in the package. The black and transparent dome housing passesively manages heat during continuous use.

Accessory Impact

The varifocal 4-8mm lens lets installers set the focal length between wide and narrow angles without swapping hardware. A 360-degree rotation mechanism allows precise aiming after mounting. The missing power supply must be sourced separately before the camera can function.

Questions about this item

How do I install the CVC-6405DC and what step is often missed?

Mount the dome, connect a 12 V DC supply that is not included, then adjust the 4-8 mm varifocal lens for focus; the step people skip is powering the camera before aiming it.

What maintenance or replacement will the CVC-6405DC need later?

Clean the transparent dome cover periodically and verify the 12 V DC supply remains stable; the 1/3 B/W CCD sensor and varifocal mechanism have no user-serviceable parts.

What limit appears first on the CVC-6405DC during sustained use?

The camera is rated for up to 95 % RH humidity; condensation on the dome or moisture ingress will degrade the 420-line image before any electronic-shutter or rotation limit is reached.
