10-pack Cat5e patch cords for LAN wiring

This ten-pack of Category 5e patch cords supplies five-foot white cables for wiring workstations, printers, VoIP phones, IP cameras, consoles and PoE devices across a Gigabit LAN. Each cord uses stranded copper-clad aluminium conductors in a 568B configuration with 8P8C RJ45 plugs on both ends.

Upgrade from older Cat5 or slower links

Replacing legacy Cat5 cords with these 350 MHz rated Cat5e cables removes the 100 Mbps bottleneck and supports 1000BASE-T throughput where the switch and NIC already negotiate Gigabit speeds. The jump is worthwhile when existing cabling limits cloud storage sync, HD video streaming or server access to Fast Ethernet rates.

Tool-free snap-in installation

Press the gold-plated 8P8C plugs into any standard RJ45 jack until the latch clicks; no punch-down tools or crimping are required. Common issues include snagged latch tabs on tight cable runs, bent pins from forced insertion, and intermittent links if the plug is not fully seated.

Questions about this item

What connectors do the 5 ft Cat5e cables use?

Each cable terminates in an 8P8C RJ45 male plug on both ends with gold-plated contacts.

How do you wire the stranded 568B conductors to the RJ45 plugs?

Follow the T568B colour code for all four twisted pairs; the plugs come pre-terminated so no crimping is required.

What limits the long-term performance of the copper-clad aluminum wires?

CCA conductors can fatigue if repeatedly bent sharply; avoid tight kinks and replace any cable that shows intermittent link errors.
