What this cable does

The CMPLE Cat6 Ethernet cable delivers wired network links at up to 10 Gbps over 100 ft of blue PVC jacket. It serves home offices, small-business LANs and security-camera runs that need more bandwidth than older Cat5e wiring can provide.

Build and connectors

Gold-plated 8P8C RJ45 plugs sit on both ends of four twisted copper-clad aluminum pairs, resisting corrosion and crosstalk. The flexible jacket bends around baseboards and through conduit without kinking, while the 550 MHz rating meets TIA/EIA 568-C.2 specs for reliable daily handling.

Upgrade path and limits

Replacing Cat5 or Cat5e patch cords with this cable lifts the ceiling from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps for switches, routers and VoIP phones that already have 10G ports. The gain is only realised when both endpoint devices support 10 Gigabit Ethernet; slower gear will still work but at its own rated speed.
