Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 40 ft

This Cat 8 Ethernet cable spans 40 ft and delivers up to 40 Gbps at 2000 MHz bandwidth. It is built for users who need maximum wired throughput for gaming, streaming or office workloads. The flat, nylon-braided jacket allows clean routing along walls or under carpets.

Check your ports and PoE needs

Verify that your router, modem, switch or PC has RJ45 ports rated for at least Cat 6a performance to benefit from the 2000 MHz bandwidth. The cable uses 26 AWG conductors and supports Power over Ethernet, so confirm your devices accept PoE if you plan to power cameras or VoIP phones. Backward compatibility covers Cat 5 through Cat 7 equipment.

Shielded flat design for tight runs

The SFTP shielding rejects interference in crowded electrical environments while the flat profile slides through narrow gaps and along baseboards. Nylon braid resists abrasion during indoor or outdoor installation. The 26 AWG copper cores provide greater transmission capacity than thinner 30 AWG alternatives, freeing you from extra power adapters for PoE devices.

Questions about this item

Does the 40 ft cable ship with connectors already attached, or do I need to buy RJ45 plugs separately?

The cable is a finished patch cord with RJ45 connectors on both ends, so nothing extra is required for a standard connection.

Why choose the 40 ft length over a shorter or longer run?

At 40 ft the flat, nylon-braided Cat 8 cord reaches between rooms or along baseboards while keeping the 40 Gbps and 2000 MHz ratings intact.

What does the 40 Gbps rating actually deliver when the cable is plugged into a router and PC?

It supports the 40GBASE-T standard up to 2000 MHz bandwidth, backward compatible with Cat 5 through Cat 7 gear, and the 26 AWG copper core also carries PoE power for cameras or VoIP phones.
