One-to-two HDMI splitter for 4K 60 Hz sources

The Corsair CO-SP12H2 takes a single HDMI 2.0 input at 18 Gbps and duplicates it to two HDMI outputs. It handles 4K at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 colour sampling, HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos 7.1 audio. The unit is aimed at users who need identical video on two displays such as a TV and a capture card or a TV and a soundbar. It does not mix or down-mix audio formats.

Bandwidth and format limits of the HDMI 2.0 link

The 18 Gbps ceiling restricts 4K signals to 60 Hz and 4:4:4 8-bit colour; 1080p can reach 120 Hz. Both outputs must share the same refresh rate, so a 4K 60 Hz screen and a 1080p 120 Hz screen cannot run together. Downscaling from 4K to 1080p is available per output, but the splitter cannot pass different resolutions at different frame rates simultaneously. HDCP 2.2 and 2.3 are bypassed.

Plug-and-play setup with push-button EDID

Power comes from the included USB cable; no driver is required. Front-panel buttons cycle EDID presets — 4K 7.1, 4K 5.1 or COPY from output 1 — and toggle the 4K-to-1080p downscaler for each output independently. A pin key is supplied for the recessed buttons. Common issues arise when the two displays report conflicting EDIDs or when a receiver lacks Dolby Vision and Atmos support together; the manual advises matching both sinks to the same EDID mode.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1×2 splitter or a different capacity for my dual-monitor setup?

This model is a 1×2 splitter with one HDMI input and two HDMI outputs, designed to duplicate a single 4K 60 Hz source to two displays.

What does the 18 Gbps bandwidth deliver when the splitter is connected to my 4K display?

The 18 Gbps bandwidth carries 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 8-bit video with HDR and Dolby Vision, plus Dolby Atmos or 7.1-channel audio, without compression.

How does the HDMI 2.0 interface limit the refresh rate at 4K resolution?

HDMI 2.0 caps 4K output at 60 Hz; 1080p can reach 120 Hz, but both outputs must share the same refresh rate.
