Headset purpose and audience

The Corsair HS80 RGB Wireless is a circumaural gaming headset built for PC and PlayStation 4 or 5 players who want low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless audio with Dolby Atmos spatial sound on PC. Its carbon finish and RGB lighting suit setups that value a coordinated look. Buyers needing Bluetooth connectivity or native Xbox wireless support should look elsewhere.

Installation ease and common issues

Plug the USB wireless dongle into a free port on PC or PlayStation for immediate 2.4G wireless audio up to 60 feet. A 1.8m USB cable provides wired operation and charges the 1500mAh battery while you play. The flip-up mute microphone with LED indicator is intuitive, though users occasionally forget to flip it down before speaking.

Capacity and headroom

Custom 50mm neodymium drivers deliver a 20Hz to 40KHz frequency response at 32 ohm impedance and 116 dB sensitivity, covering deep bass and high detail for competitive and immersive gaming. Battery life reaches up to 20 hours per charge. The broadcast-grade microphone operates at 100Hz to 10KHz with roughly 2.2K ohm impedance for clear voice capture.
