  • Dual-rank 16 GB kit enables higher memory density
  • DDR4-2400 speed delivers 2400 MT/s data rates
  • CL17 latency timing optimises response speed

16 GB DDR4-2400 RDIMM kit

This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB registered DIMMs built for DDR4-2400 platforms. Each module uses a single-rank x8 layout with a CL17 latency rating. The 288-pin form factor fits standard server memory slots. It is suited for administrators upgrading compatible rackmount or tower servers.

Thermals and power draw

Registered modules include an onboard register that adds slight latency but reduces electrical load on the memory controller. Standard DDR4 voltage keeps power draw predictable in normal server workloads. Passive cooling through chassis airflow is sufficient; no active fans are required on the modules themselves. Noise remains limited to the system fans already present in the rack.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 288-pin DDR4 RDIMM modules into my server motherboard, and what step is commonly missed?

Align the notch on each 288-pin module with the slot key, press firmly until both retention clips click, then verify in BIOS that both 8GB modules run at 2400 MT/s with CL17 timing.

What maintenance or replacement will the registered DDR4 kit need over its service life?

No routine maintenance is required; keep the server air filters clean so the modules stay cool, and replace a stick only if memory diagnostics report uncorrectable errors on one of the 8GB RDIMMs.
