Intelligent LCD 1000VA UPS

The CyberPower BRG1000AVRLCD is a line-interactive mini-tower UPS rated at 1000 VA and 600 watts. It supplies simulated sine-wave output to ten NEMA 5-15R outlets and includes a USB charging port rated at 2.1 amps. Automatic Voltage Regulation corrects input voltages between 90 and 148 volts without using battery power. Data-line protection covers RJ-45 Ethernet, RJ-11 phone and coaxial connections. Management is handled through USB or DB-9 ports with PowerPanel Personal Edition software.

Sustained load behaviour

At half load the internal battery provides approximately nine minutes of runtime, while at full load the reserve drops to roughly one minute. The simulated sine-wave output remains stable within +/- 5 percent of 120 volts during battery operation. AVR continues to regulate brownouts and over-voltages without discharging the battery, preserving capacity for genuine outages. A full recharge from empty requires about eight hours before the unit returns to full backup readiness.

Upgrade context

This unit replaces basic surge strips that lack battery backup and voltage regulation. It upgrades older standby UPS models that switch to battery for every minor fluctuation, shortening battery life. The ten-outlet count and integrated data-line protection consolidate protection for a desktop, monitor, router and peripherals in one device. Buyers needing longer runtime for extended outages or pure sine-wave output for sensitive equipment should consider larger or double-conversion units.

Questions about this item

How much heat and noise does the BRG1000AVRLCD produce when running continuously?

The unit uses line-interactive topology with AVR, correcting voltage without battery drain. Cooling fans activate only during battery operation or heavy load, keeping idle noise low.

Which cables or connections must I already have to use the 10 outlets and USB charging ports?

Plug the UPS into a standard NEMA 5-15R wall receptacle. Your devices need NEMA 5-15P plugs; USB devices charge from the two 2.1A ports with their own cables.

Will the DB-9 and USB management ports work with my older server that only has a serial console?

Yes. The DB-9 serial port and USB port both connect to PowerPanel Personal Edition, so legacy systems with a serial interface can monitor battery status and trigger graceful shutdowns.
