DELL CDTT2 4-cell Li-ion P83V9 72Wh 15.4V 4442mAh laptop battery

Dell CDTT2 replacement battery for Precision

This 4-cell lithium-ion unit is built to replace the original Dell CDTT2 power pack in Precision 5470, 5480 and 5490 series laptops. It delivers the factory-rated 72 Wh at 15.4 V and 4442 mAh using the same P83V9 cell configuration. The pack fits the internal bay without modification and restores the original runtime and charge-cycle behaviour.

Practical limits of the lithium-ion chemistry

Capacity will gradually decline over repeated charge cycles, so runtime shortens as the battery ages. Operating or storing the pack outside the normal temperature range accelerates this loss. The cell count and voltage are fixed by the laptop design, so higher-capacity alternatives cannot be fitted. Users who need longer unplugged time must carry a spare pack or use an external power source.
