Ready-to-work laptop for everyday tasks

The Dell Inspiron 15 3520 arrives with Windows 11 Pro, a 12th Gen Intel Core i3-1215U processor running at 1.2 GHz with 6 cores and 8 threads, 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB PCIe solid-state drive. The 15.6 inch FHD display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles the visual output. It suits students, office staff or anyone needing a reliable machine for web browsing, document work and video calls.

Ports and connectivity for common peripherals

One SuperSpeed USB 2.0 Type-A port and two SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5 Gbps signalling rate ports provide wired connections for mice, keyboards and external drives. An HDMI 1.4 port supports an external monitor up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz with no 4K or 2K output. A headset combo jack, a power jack and a multi-format SD card reader complete the physical interfaces. Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth handle wireless networking and accessories. The 720p HD camera is built in for meetings.

Simple setup with factory-checked upgrades

The original seal is opened by engineers to install the specified memory and storage upgrades, then the unit is tested before shipping. No backlit keyboard or fingerprint reader is present, so buyers who want those features should look elsewhere. The chassis measures 14.11 x 9.27 x 0.83 inches and weighs 3.65 pounds. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and ready for first boot.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR4 memory or 2 TB PCIe SSD be upgraded later?

The 16 GB DDR4 is soldered and cannot be expanded; the single M.2 slot holds the 2 TB PCIe SSD, so any storage upgrade means replacing that drive.

What thermal limit appears first when the i3-1215U runs at 4.4 GHz for long periods?

The 6-core i3-1215U hits its 15 W power ceiling quickly, so sustained turbo drops to base clocks and the integrated UHD graphics throttle alongside it.

How loud and hot does the 15.6 inch chassis get during an all-day workload?

The thin 0.83 inch body uses a single fan that spins up noticeably under load, and the keyboard deck becomes warm to the touch after a few hours of continuous use.
