Rugged 14-inch touchscreen laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a fully rugged 14.0-inch laptop built to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 standards. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3GHz with 16GB of memory and a 500GB SSD. The HD multi-touch display resolves 1920 x 1080 and supports the included digitizer pen. Integrated GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint reader suit field-service and security workflows.

Verify power, connectivity and expansion needs

Confirm the AC adapter and power cord match your mains voltage before deploying. The unit provides four USB ports, Gigabit LAN, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 for peripheral and network links. Memory is fixed at the 16GB maximum, so no RAM upgrade is possible. Check that any required docking station or vehicle mount is compatible with the CF-54 chassis and its rugged Fischer USB port.

Sustained field operation under load

The passively ruggedised chassis manages heat from the i5-5300U and Intel HD Graphics 5500 without active cooling vents that could breach IP65 sealing. During extended data capture or navigation tasks the SSD maintains consistent throughput while the sealed keyboard and multi-touch screen remain operable in rain, dust or vibration. Battery runtime will vary with GPS, screen brightness and wireless load; the included adapter supports continuous operation where mains power is available.
